Good Practices in Composting Discussed at the 5th Regional Stakeholders Meeting of the CORE Project
The 5th Regional Stakeholder Group meeting of the CORE project (Composting in Rural Ecosystems), co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund under Interreg Europe 2021–2027, was held at the Waste Management Company (PGO) in Promnik. The discussions focused on good practices in composting and their implementation in the Świętokrzyskie Region.
The meeting was opened by Wioletta Czarnecka, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture, Climate and Environment. Liliana Krężołek, CORE local project coordinator from the Department of Regional Development, presented the current state of implementation and the plans for the next semester. Małgorzata Walczak from the Department of Agriculture, Climate and Environment shared good practices introduced during the 4th CORE Thematic Seminar in Székesfehérvár, Hungary, i.e. : “Smart composting for effective bio-waste management” – the ECOCOMPOSTAJE application from Spain, the Hungarian CompoBot device, or German smart composting thanks to the CompoBot device.
Anna Twarowska, Plenipotentiary of the Management Board for Strategy and Development of PGO Promnik, discussed how the company applies these solutions in practice.
The CORE project supports the exchange of experience and policy improvement in the field of bio-waste management, with a special focus on composting in rural areas. It is coordinated in the region by the Department of Regional Development in cooperation with the Department of Agriculture, Climate and Environment.
