An international perspective on carbon neutrality: the NACAO project in Italy

ANCONA, Italy – On 5–6 November 2025, the Marche region will host the 6th Thematic Seminar of the NACAO project, dedicated to innovative methods of carbon offsetting. This event marks a key stage in the exchange of experiences between European regions as part of a partnership co-funded by the European Union under the Interreg Europe programme.

The seminar will be attended by experts and decision-makers from various countries, including representatives of the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship, which is actively implementing the project’s objectives in Poland. Participants will focus on analysing solutions that go beyond traditional nature-based methods. The programme includes study visits to the Marche region, presentations of regional best practices, and participation in an international conference during the ECOMONDO trade fair in Rimini.

The aim of the NACAO project is to strengthen regional climate policies through knowledge-sharing and the building of lasting alliances that support the green transition and the circular economy.

The NACAO project is co-funded by Interreg Europe 2021–2027 and is implemented by the Department of Regional Development in cooperation with the Department of Agriculture, Climate and Environment of the Marshal’s Office of the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship in Kielce.
